Llançament de CentOS 6.5: actualitzeu de CentOS 6.x a CentOS 6.5
L'1 de desembre de 2013, l'equip del projecte CentOS va anunciar el llançament de CentOS 6.5 Enterprise Linux tant per a l'arquitectura del sistema i386 com per a x86_64. Aquesta versió va ser la seva cinquena actualització de la sèrie CentOS 6.x i va incloure moltes funcions noves, noves funcionalitats i moltes correccions d'errors.
CentOS 6.5 és un sistema operatiu Linux impulsat per la comunitat de codi obert que es basa exclusivament en el llançament amunt de Red Hat Enterprise Linux (EL) 6.5. Aquesta nova versió inclou paquets de programari de totes les variants, inclosos el servidor i el client.
Aquesta versió inclou moltes funcions i canvis essencials en comparació amb la versió anterior de CentOS i us recomano a tots que llegiu les notes de la versió sobre els canvis.
Novetats a CentOS 6.5
• The Precision Time Protocol – before a technology preview – is now fully supported. Enabled support for network time stamping: bnx2x, tg3, e1000e, igb, ixgbe, and sfc; • OpenSSL has been updated to version 1.0.1; • OpenSSL and NSS now support TLS 1.1 and 1.2; • A number of renovation have been implemented for KVM, which combine read-only support of VMDK- and VHDX-Files, CPU hot plugging, and updated virt-v2v-/virt-p2v-conversion tools; • The Hyper-V and VMware drivers have been updated; • Evolution has been updated to version 2.32 and LibreOffice to version 4.0.4; • A number of features have been deprecated, which includes matahari, mingw-gcc, mingw-boost, mingw32-qpid-cpp, python-qmf, python-qpid, qpid-cpp, qpid-qmf, qpid-tests, qpid-tools, ruby-qpid, and saslwrapper.

Actualització de CentOS 6.x a CentOS 6.5
Podeu actualitzar fàcilment des de qualsevol versió anterior de CentOS 6.1, 6.2, 6.3 i 6.4 a CentOS 6.5 mitjançant l'ordre yum update des de la línia d'ordres. Abans d'actualitzar, comproveu la versió existent, si n'executeu alguna.

El procés d'actualització és molt més fàcil i senzill, tot el que heu de fer és executar l'ordre yum update. Però abans d'anar a l'actualització, us suggereixo que feu una còpia de seguretat dels fitxers importants, bases de dades, fitxers de configuració, etc.
A continuació, executeu l'ordre actualitzacions de la llista yum per enumerar tota la llista d'actualitzacions disponibles. La llista d'actualitzacions ofereix una millor idea sobre quins paquets es faran per actualitzar.

Un cop tingueu la llista d'actualitzacions disponibles, escriviu l'ordre següent per actualitzar des de qualsevol CentOS 6.x a CentOS 6.5. (Important: tingueu en compte que aquesta és l'única manera oficial d'actualitzar).

El procés d'actualització pot trigar fins a 15-30 minuts depenent de la velocitat de la vostra xarxa. Un cop finalitzat el procés d'actualització, executeu l'ordre següent per verificar la versió del vostre sistema.
